STEENBERG Police are looking for information about a shooting incident at the weekend.
On Sunday, at approximately 03:00, Steenberg SAPS were called out to Retreat Day Hospital, where staff were treating a 26-year-old man who had been shot in the leg.
Warrant Officer Hermanus van Dyk, spokesperson for the Steenberg Police Station said the victim explained he had been standing in Bach Lane, Steenberg, when three unknown men came walking up.
“He saw one of the men take out a firearm, cock the firearm and start shooting, and one bullet hit his left leg,” says Van Dyk. He ran to Retreat Day Hospital for medical treatment, but was transferred to Victoria Hospital.
