Rocklands: Beacon/Rock Seniors along with the Rocklands Taebo Group will hold a Valentine’s breakfast at Rocklands Civic Centre. The event starts at 10:00 until 14:00 and tickets cost R25. Contact Joan Rossouw on (021)3924410 for details.
Town Centre: The Mitchell’s Plain Educare Forum will hold its first monthly meeting at Town Centre Library, starting at 13:00. All existing educares as well as those who wish to start up are welcome to join.
At the meeting, educares will be assisted with registration and be kept abreast of the latest information pertaining to early childhood development. The forum’s registration fee is R100 per annum.

Westridge: The Mitchell’s Plain School of Skills will host a Valentine’s Day ball at the Westridge Civic Centre, starting at 19:00. Tickets cost R165 per person and includes a three-course meal. Ikey Gamba Dance Band will provide the music and refreshments will be on sale.
There will be lots of prizes, which includes a night at a hotel, a salon treatment and a prize for the best dressed couple.

Saturday 18 February
Colorado Park: Golden United Football Club will host a Valentine’s party in the Colorado hall, from 20:00. Tickets cost R50. There will be lucky draws, spot prizes, belly dancers and a Mr and Mrs Valentine. Patrons are requested to bring their own platter. For tickets contact Shanaaz on 0843023394.

Portlands: The Mediator Seniors Club will hold a Valentine’s matinee dance in the Portland High School hall. The dance will start from 14:00 until 21:00.

Rocklands: The Metropole South Education District (Circuit 6 and Circuit 7) will host a substance awareness conference at Spine Road High School.
The conference runs from 08:30 until 13:30 and is entitled “Looking beyond dependency”.

Strandfontein: St. Francis Fire Flies will hold their dedication service at St Francis of Assisi Anglican Church, situated off Salmon Way.
