KIRSTENHOF police conducting patrols at the Retreat Station on Friday spotted a suspect selling counterfeit CDs and DVDs. They also found 2 000 other counterfeit goods in the man’s possession.
The suspect was arrested and appeared in court yesterday.
On Tuesday last week, the crime prevention unit received a tip-off that the owner of a china shop in Tokai was selling prescription drugs. When police arrived they found five packets of viagra and arrested the owner for selling prescription drugs.
Hout Bay Police also made numerous arrests this past week in roadblocks and shebeen raids. They confiscated alcohol, drugs and weapons. Officers conducted a drug search at Hout Bay High School on Wednesday 15 February. The school had experienced a few violent incidents prior to the search and the school principal requested the search.
Several knives, cigarettes, lighters, sharp objects and a flare were confiscated. The scholars were given the opportunity to hand in any dangerous weapon before the search. No arrests were made.
