New World Foundation will be hosting a Movie Day on the last Thursday of every month, followed by a discussion, starting from 10:00 until 12:00.

Zandvlei was one of the estuaries identified by the CAPE Estuaries Programme as a priority for the development of a management plan, as required by the Integrated Coastal Management Act. This plan was completed in December 2010 and is now being implemented with support from Cape Nature and the City of Cape Town. Progress on the implementation of the plan and proposed priorities for 2012 will be the subject of a Public Meeting. Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to attend at the Zandvlei Sports or Yacht Club starting from 17:00 until 19:00. Recognising that there is little or no activities for the Gay community in our areas, New World Foundation is calling the community to a meeting on Thursday 23 February at their complex in Lavender Hill, from 18:30, to discuss Gay Pride Day that will be held on Saturday 3 March.

Sunday 26 February
Madrasah al Irshad (School of Guidance) will be held at the Primrose Park Masjid, at the corner of Kunene and Ohio Road in Primrose Park, every Sunday morning from 10:00 till 12:30. The Madrasah caters for learners from Grade R to Grade 12, covering subjects such as Quran Reading, memorization, Akhlaq, Fiqh, Aqidah and history. Registration is R70 and madrasah is R150. Registration from Saturday 25 February. Madrasah starts Sunday 26 February.

Wednesday 29 February
New World Foundation will be hosting “Tea & Talk” sessions on the last Wednesday of every month at their complex in Lavender Hill, starting at 10:00 until 12:00. Women representatives from organisations, groups and individuals in Lavender Hill and surrounding areas who are involved in doing something positive in their community, should attend.

Friday 16 March
Cape Youth Drama (CAYDO) will be hosting the annual 2012 talent search with Pre-lims for Dance (hip-hop, B-boy, krump, shuffle etc) on Friday 16 March, and Song (solo, duet, choirs, rap) on Saturday 17 March. Finals will be on Saturday 24 March.
Entries are now open for all interested solo performers and crews or groups.
