FOUR MEN were arrested in Crawford on a charge of drug possession after being flagged as suspicious by alert members of Lansdowne Police.
On Wednesday, officers were doing routine patrols in Repulse Road when they spotted four men cruising the streets in a yellow VW Golf. “Members stopped the vehicle and searched the men,” says Constable Nkululeko Mnyaka, Lansdowne police spokesperson. “We found twelve stoppe dagga and R12346 in cash. The suspects, aged between 23 and 30, were arrested. A case of drug possession was opened for investigation.”

Officers were doing patrols when they noticed a cream Opel Kadette driving towards Klipfontein Road. “They pulled the vehicle over to do a routine stop and search,” says Lieutenant Ian Bennett, Manenberg police spokesperson. “The vehicle had four occupants in it. During the search, the officers found three packets containing the drugs, with a street value of R35200.”
The four men, aged between 34 and 37, appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
